On Hiatus
Hey kids...until further notice this blog is on hiatus. Some of you have been asking where I’ve been, what’s going on, is everything ok. Yes, nothing wrong, just really busy with work and life. Not real motivated to post anything here as of late...so until further notice, you are on notice that you won’t find anything new here.

One Year Ago Today
Yes, I know I haven't updated this site in a while...and I need to post the wedding/honeymoon pictures and a bunch of other stuff...I'll get to it. But I couldn't let today go by without commemorating the passing of Mark Tarsi 1 year ago today. I'm looking forward to raising a glass to him tonight with some of the Daymon folks. I can't believe it's been a year.

2005 Maine Forest Rally – Pix & Video
I had some videos up here but I had to take them down, the files were huge and I was over my monthly bandwidth. Maybe someday I'll have a stream hosting provider, but until then I'll need to edit these files down to the basic highlights.

Top Ten Coolest People I've Never Met
My boss and I were shootin’ the shit yesterday (this is common practice with my boss) and somehow we got on the topic of who he thought were the top ten coolest people ever. I started to think about my own list. A lot of the people who I think are cool are people I actually know and interact with...but if I published that list then people not on the list would inevitably be all pissy and what not. So I decided to create the list with a caveat - the people on the list are all people I've never met…and thus all have some degree of fame or celebrity. Not in any order...
- Chuck Yeager: if you envy fighter pilots or flyers in general, I shouldn’t have to explain this one to you.
- Lance Armstrong: comes back from the brink of death to CRUSH the record for most Tour de France’s won by a single person. That Tour de France is no easy race. Unbelievable...super-human.
- Henry Rollins: an original who never strays from his beliefs and is always on the move...always out there doing and experiencing and sharing with others...yet still manages to be an amazing curmudgeon...something I can relate to.
- Stevie Ray Vaughan: if you envy guitar players I shouldn’t have to explain this one to you. Never getting to see him live is one of my great regrets.
- Warren Zevon: another original who was an absolute master at his craft. Made music that was true to his vision and not to what the masses wanted to hear. His work is gold. I miss you Warren.
- Michael Schumacher: if you know anything about auto racing I shouldn’t have to explain this one to you.
- Chris Locke, Doc Searls & David Weinberger: ok, I know this is 3 people, but I think of them collectively and find them cool for writing a book called the Cluetrain Manifesto. If you like business and the internet, after reading this book you might think they are cool too.
- Jon Stewart: sure, he’s swings a bit too left for my taste sometimes, but what a master at blending humor and actual intelligent political thought. What a way to get a point across to the cynical viewer (like me).
- Rick Mears: the epitome of a classy sportsman and competitor, and one amazing race car driver to boot. I miss you on the track "Uncle" Rick.
- Dwight Eisenhower: master minding the total victory in Europe during WWII...yeah...no stress there. This guy was a military genius. War is hell, but when you get called out in the biggest conflict in human history, a guy like this better have your back. Thanks Ike.

Beatallica
Ever hear a good cover band? How about a good tribute band? Ever hear a great tribute band covering tunes not in the genre of the band that they "tribute?" Beatallica is a cover band in the genre of Metallica, but they cover...of all things...Beatles tunes. Download and listen here.
Yes, it's silly, but if you listen to it, it is scary how much the singer sounds like James Hetfield and just how GOOD these guys are.
Also, Sony tried to shut these guys down. Guess who came to their rescue? That's right folks, the Napster-hating Lars Ulrich himself (drummer for the real Metallica)! Apparently Lars is a fan of Beatallica.
The lyrics are also quite good, but you have to know Metallica albums and references to get them.

Found In The Mail
We had something interesting happen at the office the other day. Even more interesting was the fact that the reporter from the Newtown Bee was on the scene at the same time the police and fire department were. Slow news day? Do they listen to the police scanner? Follow the sound of the sirens? You've got to love small town news...
