OQO Ultra Personal Computer
Jared just sent me a link to one of the coolest gadgets I've seen in quite some time. The OQO Ultra Personal Computer is what I've been fantasizing about for year. Take the core elements of any computer (the hard drive, the memory, the motherboard, etc) and cram them into a tiny little package. Then you can take that package anywhere and just plug it into different peripherals depending on how you want to work. That is the basic premise behind the OQO UPC.
The real beauty of the idea behind it is that it eliminates 3 machines (my desktop PC, my laptop PC and my PDA). I am all about elimination of devices. Especially since all three of those machines have copies of my calendar, contacts, and some form or another of my email. Why have all this redundant info? I just want it all in one place. Very cool. Be sure to watch the video.
My next question is, of course, how much will it cost and when can I get one?

Does it come in any cool colors? I was thinking maybe lime green or possible a nice dark blue to match my Porsche. If it doesn't come in those colors, do you think my local body shop could paint it?

Personnaly, I don't care what gizmos and gadgets you like. In fact, you're a homo. You have to be or else you wouldn't blog this nonsense and you would keep it real like your Nick Berg comments below. That is interesting and thought provoking not boring and random. This product will probably see the same fate as the Newton by Apple. We should make a deal, you buy and, before you go to ebay, Blog that you will be selling it and I will contact you personally and take it off your hands.

That you have been "fantasizing" about this thing is more than enough reason for me to be worried for your current state of health!
